The Nazis Are Among Us — Look Left

Leftists reach new depths of hypocrisy and inhumanity as innocent civilians in Israel are tortured, kidnapped and massacred.

Today was the deadliest day for Jewish people since the Holocaust. What started in Israel as Simchat Torah, a sacred Jewish holiday of joy (and Shabbat) mutated into a terrorist attack tantamount to America’s 9/11. An Islamist jihad on Israeli civilians by Hamas has left 700 dead so far, with hundreds more expected to die, thousands injured, and over 100 captured.

The captured include literal babies, children, families, and elderly, including Holocaust survivors. Videos of torture and rape and massacring of captured civilians have already circulated across social media. Israelis continue to endure the rainfall of rockets, destroying their homes as they hide out in bomb shelters, trying to locate missing loved ones — praying they are still alive.

The death count exploded Sunday morning, as news broke of mass executions, rape and kidnappings at a rave where young people were partying. At least 260 bodies were found at the site. Survivors recount the horrors of watching people be raped next to the lifeless bodies of their friends.

Hamas has taken the bodies of young women they raped into Gaza, parading their naked corpses for cheering crowds to spit and defecate on. Another video shows terrorists unleashing a small Israeli child into a group of Palestinian kids, to be beaten and tormented as he cries in fear. Elderly Israelis were butchered at a bus stop. The violence is so widespread and so unfathomable, there are simply no words to convey the devastation.

Jewish people around the world are witnessing pogroms and ethnic cleansing in real-time, and most of the world is watching with either ambivalence or glee. And the most eerie of the justifications for this treacherous violence is coming from the Left.

Today, American leftists sat on couches in their cushy homes, typing every pathetic justification they could think of for gang rape, abduction of babies and small children, and murder of elderly and civilians because “By any means necessary.”

To be clear, Palestinian people are experiencing oppression and deserve sovereignty and liberation. However, if Americans should not be blamed for the actions of their government to the extent that they should be indiscriminately murdered, kidnapped, tortured, or raped, then the same logic should apply to Israelis (ignoring the fact that the situations are completely different anyway, since Jews are indigenous to Israel and have literally thousands of years of documented and continued history and culture originating there).

A year ago, leftists posted about “Women, Life, Freedom!” in solidarity with the victims of the terrorist regime in Iran. Today, as news broke about the regime funding Hamas’s brutality, suddenly the condemnation was replaced by tacit approval. The message is clear: Terrorism is bad — unless Jews are the victims.

White leftists with few values or hobbies outside of parroting 19th century sociopaths on Reddit and touching themselves to photos of Vladimir Putin have been heavy on the keys today, proudly defending the “imperfect [Palestinian] victims” enacting their campaign of terror.

They speak to their comrades with full sincerity, applauding the efforts of the rapists and kidnappers and murderers, as though their actions are entirely just and comprehensible. Even piteous leftist American Jews have piled onto the cacophony of reprehensible ignorance to celebrate their deep self-loathing.

The rest of the Jewish people watch in horror, fearing for our loved ones, our people, our homeland, and our future in the diaspora where nothing seems to have changed in the last few thousand years. Across time and space, no matter what we do, they will hate us and they will find ways to rationalize, justify and celebrate our suffering. We will not let them win.

While I hold in deep contempt and disgust any antisemite, I understand the complexity of the deep historical pain and fighting between Arab and Jewish peoples. Everyone else, and especially the white Americans on the Left who like to sweepingly refer to Jews as “white people” while simultaneously using the basis of our very racialization (which is diametrically opposed to whiteness) in the diaspora as the foundation for their core identity — “fighting Nazis” and being “anti-fascist” — merely relishes in hating Jews.

Too many leftists think themselves credible arbiters of justice and experts on all geopolitics based on extremely reductive, binary, and conformist ideologies. Too many are so wrapped up in their loneliness and incapacity for independent thought that they lose themselves in the simulacrum of justice that promises an artificial stamp of “goodness” and belonging.

This is how the Nazis thought. They felt the killing of Jews was not only completely rational, but absolutely necessary, and even progressive for the greater good of society! They even loved yoga and were fascinated by bastardized interpretations of Eastern spirituality, much like many of the QAnon or YogAnon “hippies” we see touting love and light and hyper-simplified social justice takes mixed in with conspiracy theories today (yes, most of them are life coaches).

Jewish people are intimately familiar with the contempt that many Christian people feel towards them (whether it is born of anger at Jews allegedly killing Jesus, a deep desire for us to all die in Israel immediately so the Rapture can materialize, and/or merely our unwillingness to capitulate to the relentless proselytizing and often violent Christian missionary dogma for thousands of years).

America is a fundamentalist Christian nation. Unless you are a Jewish person living in large cities, you may always feel a certain panic at “outing” yourself as Jewish (since we are such a small percentage of the population, many of the folks who hate us don’t even know what we look like — or even necessarily that we are an ethnoreligious people — heck, they may not even know what “ethno-religion” means!).

But it has been ever more the case these past few years, that being in cities, rife with so-called liberals and leftists, is possibly more terrifying than the uncomfortable gaze of fundamentalist Christians. Many rural fundamentalist Christians are more interested in self-governance and libertarianism (a result of which could easily result in a horrific, theocratic kind of anarchy), but the far-leftists who mold much of liberal activist thought espouse a similar kind of tyrannical dogma.

The Marxist principles that underpin organizations like DSA (the socialist organization that brought us epic loser hypocrite and billionaire wife AOC) are foundational to communism. There are many countries that practice some form of communism (like Russia or North Korea), and many of the values of Marxism are not inherently bad. But the poison of Marxism and the part that has corrupted every expression of communism we’ve seen in the world, relies on a forced conformity that is so rigid, it often violently punishes anyone who steps outside of the accepted norms or questions the paradigms.

Watch the reaction of the majority of leftists who find out you are a “Zionist” — without knowing any of the nuance or history of what that means, who the Jewish people are, what our indigenous, cultural connection is to Israel, what the history of the conflict or the Jewish diaspora is, and they will feel emboldened to castigate and shun you without hesitation.

That is because leftist conformity breeds the same type of ideological assimilation and cultish behavior that far right dogma breeds. The startling similarity of these two seeming polarities on the political spectrum is referred to frequently as “the horseshoe theory.” Jews know it all too well.

Can you imagine it being “socially just” to tell a marginalized group, with nothing to substantiate your sentiments but Instagram meme history and maybe an Angela Davis book about Palestinian oppression under your belt? Alas, there’s another important nugget in there: deep seated hatred against Jews.

It is so passive it doesn’t even need to be conscious (though it often is — as was clear in today’s pro-Palestinian marches across the world, like the one in New York where a man proudly holds up a swastika in a crowd of defiant antisemites who are completely ambivalent to its existence among them).

I am terrified for my loved ones, and pray for the safety of my people. I pray for an end to this conflict, and for the cosmic punishment that awaits every single villain who celebrates and justifies what happened to the civilians today.

And yet, as I experience deep grief and anger, I’m reminded of the power and urgency of “Never Again.” Never again is now, and I am proud to be Jewish, I am proud to love my homeland as a central part of my heart and soul and belonging on this planet. And I am proud for my Israeli siblings who are called to the front lines to remind anyone and everyone in this world who doesn’t think Jewish people have a right to exist, that we aren’t going anywhere. We will fight back. And we will win.
