I totally agree, even the definition of human rights has more ambiguity (and can be weaponized or augmented or selectively applied on the basis of personal politics) then we would like to think. Morality is an inherently ambiguous and on some level ever-changing thing. I don’t personally believe there is such thing as “perfect” morality but I have also been extremely disenchanted by the reactionism and narrow-mindedness of the left these past few years. Certainly not to say people can’t be reactionary or narrow-minded on the opposite side of the spectrum either, but I have found it a lot easier to have nuanced disagreement and discourse with conservative people than most liberals (and certainly leftists) these past few years. And I’m saying that as a former leftist activist!
