Okay well it’s clear that no conversation can be constructive here since you are quick to call anything i say disingenuous and accuse me of gaslighting you. I understand it’s the internet and a lot of Jewish people have disturbingly fixed and downright awful opinions on the issue, but that doesn’t mean NO ONE can be genuinely open to hearing different perspectives and discussing. Honestly I don’t understand how anyone involved in any corner of social justice movements thinks we’re going to make progress just by virtue signaling and insulting the character of anyone and everyone they perceive disagrees with them. I asked earnestly, if you disbelieved that or didn’t like how I phrased it you could just not respond rather than insult me. But I respect your opinions and regardless of what you think I think, I stand fully in solidarity with the Palestinian people who have been victimized by the actions of the Israeli government, military and settlers in the West Bank and Gaza. There must be accountability, period. But that also doesn’t change the facts I mentioned in the article, which include that Palestinian Israelis still have full rights and citizenship, that there is at least some ambiguity about what constitutes “theft” of land based on history and continuous existence of Jews in this land, and based on previously waged wars and the continued mission of annihilation of Israel held by the Palestinian Authority (a mission that could easily be construed as somewhat understandable for many who comprehend the weight of Palestinian suffering and the actions of the Israeli government which are disgusting in relation to Palestinians, but which still is complex in the context of the situation about land entitlement). Anyways it doesn’t sound like any further discussion here is constructive since you doubt my motives but seeing as you’re passionate and knowledgable about the issue maybe in the future you would consider approaching this kind of thing as a conversation instead of an attack. But you are probably just reading this as condescending now so really do whatever you want. Take care.
