No debate on that here, I would say this is certifiably not art by any standard! I watched because 1) I did enjoy the original when I was 8, 2) like many others sometimes I enjoy watching trash product because I don't always have the emotional or intellectual capacity to be fully present with art in the way that it warrants and necessitates, and 3) aside from enjoying media criticism, I have a sort of anthropological and existential curiosity about how society is flowing and what people are watching and why. Even if it depresses me and I know it will continue to depress me (I could probably draw some better boundaries for myself), I'd rather understand the full and especially the mainstream scope and behavior of society rather than put all of my energy and attention in more sophisticated/beautiful/hopeful niches.

But it's a good reminder (granted I won't be watching Hitchcock as I scare very easily) that there is lots of accessible quality content.
