It’s certainly a strange moment we’re in. At one point, Jews and Asians and Indians all fit the bill of “model minority.” Now Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, an extremely wealthy Indian woman whose children were raised in private schools of one of the wealthiest neighborhoods of Seattle, is painting herself as an oppressed “Brown” woman and doing everything she can to belong to the Squad. She wants to “contextualize” and have a “balanced” response to the rape of Israeli women and children. And she’s credible and an expert on all oppression because… she’s a POC? It doesn’t make sense.

I still strongly believe that racism and colorism are real and systemic and need to be addressed. But this inversion of white supremacist hierarchy is asinine and just plain backwards
