I think that’s a very interesting point! I suppose the pre-existence of more developed consciousness in people who have already been relatively autonomous live beings might complicate the extrapolation there, but even “autonomous” (or I suppose aliveness/consciousness itself) to your point is still part of a spectrum. But I certainly think it’s relevant criteria to consider!
