I appreciate that. But my point is not to argue. My point is, despite my very strong pro-choice convictions, that the art of critical thinking is neither comfortable nor quick. It requires patience and nuance and understanding— which incidentally is how we can not only better shape our own arguments, but build better bridges and understanding with people we disagree with. Plenty of people have written in-depth moral arguments about their “sides.” I am more interested in posing ethical questions that will spur truly critical thinking and dialogue.
Incidentally, I thought what you referenced in regards monitoring the accuracy of rape claims is very astute and salient as part of broader dialogue on legal ethics and enforcement.
