For the same reason that Native Americans who are Christian and don't "worship" American lands anymore are still indigenous to the place and still have a birthright here. Truly not that complicated. Jews are from the Middle East, specifically Israel. You can have a connection to the land you are from (the land your ancestors have worshipped, lived in and yearned to return to for over a thousand years) without practicing every aspect of halacha.

And the only shit that's "crazy-making" is that some people can mandate with full seriousness that [what they perceive to be adequately] homogeneous belief and practice in an identical religious ideology is the singular justification and precursor for living on any specific piece of land.

Palestinians came to Israel as part of the Arab conquests in the 7th century, which is one of the major violent conquests that forced most Jewish people into the diaspora to begin with. Enough time has passed that both groups can claim indigeneity, and both groups have valid claims to the land. That's where compromise comes in.

There's no need to attempt to demonize Jewish people or our connection to Israel, or advocate for the destruction of our state in the name of an Islamist state with Arabs that you like better for *some* reason.

Lmao it's genuinely amazing to me that you think you're a passionate, critical thinker. Try a little harder, bud.
