Dalton you giant goofball!!!!! Dalton, IDGAF about “political correctness” though I would love to understand from you what you think “political correctness” means in this scenario and why it triggers you. Dalton (I love ur name real talk), can we both acknowledge how goofy it is and mayyybe a lil ironic that you got upset about my alleged lack of humor that you grokked from my *media criticism* essay to the point where you angrily accused me of being humorless while thanking the heavens that most people agree with you? First of all, Dalton, the masses aren’t inherently *correct* just because they largely agree on something (what up slavery! what up Nazi Germany! what up lack of sanitation in medieval timez!). Secondly, Dalton, I enjoyed the show and it made me giggle frequently! Believe it or not, people who write media critiques (this is a real genre my friend, look it up. And just food for thought for you, even shows that we love SHOULD be criticized, just like people or movements or institutions or ideas etc, because that’s the only way we move forward. And I know you’ve noticed that society changes whether we like it or not, hopefully for the better, but this happens through the exchange of ideas, most of which are uncomfortable and/or disarming when we first come across them — especially if they pertain to something we hold dear) are not inherently humorless, nor does criticism mean that something is wholly terrible. Dalton, I am frankly wondering if some of the “political correctness” culture you seem to loathe goes hand-in-hand with cancel culture, which I also frankly resent — we need to move beyond the idea that A) criticizing someone or something makes it entirely “bad,” and B) we should annihilate anyone or anything we disagree with or that we/society perceives as “bad.”

We can disagree on whether or not any of the items I listed in the article are true or fair, and I would actually welcome and LOVE the exchange of ideas as to why or why not! And i mean that as more specific than a mere “it’s political correctness rah rah rah” i know you’re not that curmudgeonly Dalton you’ve got an excellent sense of humor after all I could tell from the dick joke and frankly I think we should be best friends if you’re open to it. But I leave you with this: if the genre of media criticism, especially about shows you hold dear fills you with rage and makes you want to lash out on the internet, don’t read em! Simple and easy, saves ya time and sanity. Take care you Dalton, I love you.
